And no publisher has reported financially that they've been hurt from it. I’m starting a self publishing initiative, so I was reading your comments. The annual lists are a better guide to the true bestseller. Book sales are about search engine marketing. For most books, publishers will at the very least send out advance reading copies or galleys—copies of the book in a preliminary bound stage—so that booksellers and critics can read the book before it’s published and decide how much attention they want to pay to it.

When one walks into a bank one sees the lending rates of the various economic activities displayed conspicuously. A sole proprietorship LLC and S Corporation LLC may deduct 100% of health insurance premiums, but there is lesser deductibility of fringe benefits and smaller retirement plan contribution limits and plan flexibility. The solution is to revert to how book business was conducted before the Great Depression, matching how goods are sold in almost every other retail sector -- i.e., using 'firm sales' rather than 'returnable' (consignment) terms, and increasing the basic retailer's discount to 50%.
